Issue #65
Visions of the Future
The KeyForge: Æmber Skies Gamefound campaign crossed the $200,000 USD mark the night of Monday April 22. The next morning, the corresponding stretch goal “A Glimpse of the Future” was unlocked, prompting Ghost Galaxy to share details on the KeyForge set to follow Æmber Skies.
Prophetic Visions — expected to be the ninth standard KeyForge set — will feature a new Prophecy card type which will “foretell a fate that may (or may not) come to pass, with unpredictable consequences” according to the update. Backers who back at a pledge tier level will also receive a pack of Prophetic Visions preview cards in their Gamefound shipment as part of the stretch goal reward.
The poll included at the end of the update appears to provide a glimpse at some of the houses we may expect to see in Prophetic Visions, including the potential return of Nizak, the Forgotten.
While no further details have been confirmed, the “two set a year cadence” established by Ghost Galaxy — if followed — would likely place Prophetic Vision’s release sometime in Spring 2025.
Tokens of Change
If you can’t wait until Spring for Prophetic Visions, an extra update posted the same day by Ghost Galaxy surprised players with an additional special set releasing later this year: Tokens of Change
This tournament legal special set takes the Token Creature mechanic from Winds of Exchange, and applies it to the five houses that were not in that set, in addition to Skyborn, as well as a brand new house: House Redemption, a splinter faction of House Sanctum. Each house will receive its first suite of tokens, as well as token generating cards.
Those wishing to get their hands on Tokens of Change decks can do so by adding decks to their pledge as an add-on. Tokens of Change will also be commercially available at participating retailers. If the campaign reached $400,000 USD raised, each pledge tier backer will receive one additional Tokens of Change deck at no additional cost.

Ask a Judge
Q: I have 9 cards in my discard pile. On my turn, I play Haunting Witch enhanced with a discard bonus icon. Am I haunted in time to resolve Haunting Witch’s ability?
A: Yes. The first thing you do after a creature is played is resolve its bonus icons. This happens before you resolve “after you play a creature”, “ after a creature enters play” and “Play:” abilities. So in this case, if you successfully discard a card by resolving the discard bonus icon, you will be haunted (with 10 cards in your discard pile) at the timing point Haunting Witch’s ability resolves, so you will gain 1 Æmber.
