Vault Tour Dallas and Shanghai Nat’l Reports

The reports are in! Ghost Galaxy posted their results report for the recent Vault Tour in Dallas. As with previous results posts, top houses, cards, and top placements from the event are available to view.

Bringing KeyForge to Vietnam

When the KeyForge: Winds of Exchange Gamefound campaign reached $750,000 USD raised, players around the world knew Winds of Exchange would be getting localized in several languages. A hidden bonus revealed not long afterwards, KeyForge would also be localized in Vietnamese for the first time in the game’s history.

Riku Nguyen is one of the team members at d20 Board Game, the company behind making the Vietnamese localization of KeyForge a reality. “We have two communities split into two cities in Vietnam: Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh, but our relationship is really great we can be seen as one” says Nguyen, who goes on to mention the friendships that have grown over the years given players often live close to each other and have met two nights a week to play KeyForge.

“Vietnam has always been a country that loves KeyForge, but the language barrier is real. We learn English in school but not at the level we should have to truly be universal.” This sparked an effort from d20 to bring localized KeyForge to Vietnam, a journey which started as early as 2020 — but due to the pandemic and inability to print new decks — was not able to come to fruition at first.

One successful Gamefound campaign later however, new KeyForge publisher Ghost Galaxy was able to connect and partner with d20 to allow them to continue their vision of having KeyForge: Winds of Exchange localized in Vietnam, a process which Nguyen says involves card translations, localizing deck name generation, and countless tests and reviews of proofs and samples.

“I believe this is something meaningful and KeyForge will be recognized by a lot of people [in Vietnam]” says Nguyen when asked about what it felt like to bring localized KeyForge to his country for the first time. "That's really a long and meaningful journey for me and my team, full of ups and downs. We went through so much during these three years and we're proud that this dream has come true.”

Freelancer’s ability resolves along with any other “start of turn” effects, which all complete before the Forge a Key step (step 1) occurs. Since Freelancer will move Timoti the Damned to your battleline during the “start of turn” effects window, Timoti the Damned will not prevent you from forging a key during your Forge a Key step.
