On Monday, June 5, Ghost Galaxy updated the Master Vault to allow players to scan in decks from the latest KeyForge set, Winds of Exchange. This update also included decks that were released at KeyForge Celebration in November of last year, as well as decks in the latest Unchained set.

On my turn, I play Loot the Bodies that has been enhanced with a damage bonus icon. When I resolve the bonus icon it destroys one of my opponent’s creatures. Does Loot the Bodies’ ability resolve to give me 1 Æmber?

No. The damage bonus icon is resolved first, destroying the 1-power creature. This happens before the lasting effect from Loot the Bodies is established, so the destroyed creature will not result in the gain of 1 Æmber from Loot the Bodies’ ability.

CORRECTION TO LAST WEEK’S ANSWER:
Last week’s answer ended up with a very similar result, but the way it gets there was slightly incorrect. Thanks to UltimoFox for pointing out the discrepancy!
No. The rules for ability state, “If resolving part of the instructions of a card ability causes other card effects to begin to resolve, resolve those other card effects before continuing to resolve the instructions of the first card.”

In this case that means as Researcher’s Destroyed ability (granted by FOF Transponder) is resolved, it makes a token creature. That token creature enters play and is dealt 1 damage by Autocannon, tagging it for destruction. FOF Transponder then attaches to the new token creature, but the new token creature cannot gain a Destroyed: ability, because it is already tagged for destruction. As such, that new token creature will go to the discard pile, along with the original token creature and FOF Transponder.
