On Thursday, the Gamefound crowdfunding campaign for KeyForge’s ninth standard set, Prophetic Visions, went live. The campaign’s goal of $50,000 USD was met in 34 minutes and 48 seconds.

Backers can pledge their support with the following tiers:

Novice of the Crucible — $60 USD
Seeker of Decks — $80 USD
Reaper of Æmber — $160 USD
Breaker of Chains — $425 USD
Turner of Keys — $785 USD
Architect of the Crucible — $1,500 USD
Architect of the Crucible Premium* — $2,000 USD

FEATURES NEW TO THIS CAMPAIGN:

Potential of Multiple Home Base Votes
“During the Pledge Manager period of this campaign, backers will have the option to support one or more of those Home Base retailers that have made a wholesale pledge”

$200,000 USD: Anomaly In the Air
Unlocking this goal will increase the number of anomalies that can be found in the set. Also, all backers will receive a KeyForge: Prophetic Visions deck with a guaranteed Anomaly in it
$300,000 USD: Crucible Clash
Unlocking this goal will give all backers 1 archon deck from the new special set, KeyForge: Crucible Clash, a set designed for sealed play.

UPDATES:

Players who followed the campaign prior to its launch who ultimately place a pledge tier order will receive 1 limited edition “Foresight" deck, which is a Prophetic Visions deck with a special graphical treatment.

The campaign is expected to run until Monday, December 9, 2024, with an estimated goal of having backers receive their pledge shipments by the end of May 2025.

Sliding into DMs

As part of reaching the Prophetic Vision Gamefound campaign’s first stretch goal, Ghost Galaxy unveiled the name of the upcoming 10th standard KeyForge set: Draconian Measures

“Sleess Nine Fangs trembled as he approached the summit, his offering clutched closely to his heart. Every step forward increased his sense of dread, and for the hundredth time, he barely suppressed the urge to flee back down the mountain. Suddenly, a sound like thunder shook the ground, and he felt the voice of the Psion pierce his mind. Time seemed to slow, then all was black.

When Sleess Nine Fangs awoke, he was back at the foot of the mountain. Lord Nizak, the Psion, had spoken, Sleess Nine Fangs knew what had to be done. The Crucible must change—it must be prepared.”

As with previous campaigns, backers will receive a preview package of 3 cards from the set with their Prophetic Visions Gamefound pledge as a stretch goal reward.

Home Base

Looking for a place to play KeyForge near you? Ghost Galaxy has published their official Home Base Retailer list on the KeyForge website. Serving as a de facto store locator, Home Base retailers are local game stores which support KeyForge through product purchasing and organized play.

There are four tiers of Home Base retailers: Sentry, Outpost, Castle, and Fortress. The tier a store receives is based off votes that store received from crowdfunding campaigns, of which the Prophetic Visions campaign will be another chance for retailers to back, and for players to vote for their home base.

Ask a Judge

Q: I have Brikk Nastee in my battleline. I use Ornar Skullface to fight a 2 power creature. When Ornar Skullface’s Assault is resolve, this destroys the enemy creature. Does Brikk Nastee’s ability resolve?

A: Yes. Ornar Skullface was still used to fight, even though the Assault damage dealt in the “before fight” window destroyed the creature, so Brikk Nastee’s "after another friendly Brobanr creature fights” ability will resolve.
