KeyForge Celebration 2024 and World Championships Recap
Congratulations to Varghast, bamboo29, and Dammat, your KeyForge World Champions for Sealed, Archon, and Alliance respectively! In Sealed, Varghast reconfigured his sealed alliance after the second game to win the third vs Wei Do. In Archon, bamboo29 piloted her Grim Reminders deck Nghị P. Ðức, Biến Thể to victory over FlamingHobo’s Grim Reinder deck Y. Hayes, the Isle Carpenter. In Alliance, Dammat piloted an Grim Reminders alliance of Geistoid, Unfathomable, and Star Alliance to victory over AV8R’s Tokens of Change Alliance of Dis, Redemption, and Untamed.
As part of winning the world championships, Varghast, bamboo29, and Dammat will get the opportunity to work with a KeyForge designer to design their very own KeyForge card.
In the open tournaments to determine the first invitees to the 2025 World Championship, Harmed defeated sundy in the Sealed final, Emperor Riku defeated LordJudo in the Archon final, and MarkH defeated snek in the Alliance final.
The KeyForge Celebration 2024 also included the Last Chance Qualifier sealed alliance tournament on Thursday, a Tokens of Change sealed event on Friday night, on-demand sealed pods, tons of community events, and a “Meet the Ghosts” Q&A panel with members of the Ghost Galaxy staff. The “Meet the Ghosts” Q&A covered a lot of ground such as what Stratoflight was and why DT decks are not able to be cloned yet. The WarCast Reforged will have a recap of the Q&A at a later time.

Finding Love in KeyForge
A huge congratulations to Bamboo29 and her husband EmperorRiku who celebrated their wedding in style, traveling from Vietnam to KeyForge Celebration, and winning the Archon World Championship and Open Archon Championship, respectively. An amazing story for these amazing Keyforge players!
KeyForge KeyNote Announcements
On Thursday, Christian T Peterson addressed the community with an update on the state of Keyforge. Reflecting on the events, misses, and releases of 2024, Peterson also provided fans with a glimpse into what they can expect in the coming year. Some of the misses included:
Failed to get Playstile tournament software ready for public use
Didn’t make “Weekly OP” packs available
Fell short in launching new-player recruitment program
Featured highlights from the year ahead included:
Prophetic Visions (set 9) to be launched in Spring 2025
KeyForge Discovery new player set to be launched in January 2025
An unannounced set for Fall 2025
Organized play for 2025 was also announced, and you can find the schedule down in the Keyforge Play section.
Even more was announced including Deck Clones, Deck Accolades, and the Martian Civil War Results (see stories below).
Deck Cloning and Accolades
Deck Clones are now available to order on decks! Deck Clones are copies of decks that can be acquired in different languages. The cards of Clone Decks will contain the clone sigil near their card name, and the deck list of a Clone Deck will have a creation time-stamp at the bottom of the archon card. The back of archon card for all cloned decks will all feature the same clone color and avatar. Cloned decks are legal in tournament matches, with the following restrictions: Only the owner can play a cloned deck and only one instance of a deck may be played in a tournament. Cloned Decks cost $25 and take about 4 weeks to produce.
Decks may be awarded "Accolades" for winning or attending select events. You can see accolades on the Master Vault page for the deck, and when you print a clone of that deck, players may choose up to 3 accolades badges that will appear on that cloned deck's cards.
Martian Civil War
The Elders have officially won the Martian Civil War vs the Rebels with the Elders collecting 694 official wins to the 642 wins by the Rebels.
Meet the Podcasters
In a packed Gamezenter Bellatrix room, the faces of Archons Corner, Help From Future Self, Rule of Six, Sloppy Labwork, and The WarCast Reforged united for a Podcaster Panel and Q&A on Sunday, the final day of KFC24.
After introducing themselves, they discussed their background on how their podcasts came to be and what motivated them to create content supporting the game they love, and how they view their roles in the community.
The panel took questions from the audience, and had a playful interactive element in the form of a Bingo card having attendees cross off boxes for silly (and expected) events happening that certain individuals may have a reputation for.
Ask a Judge
Q: My opponent has destroyed my Alpha-Gamma token. Are they allowed to see the faceup side of the card before it is archived?
A: No. Alpha-Gamma’s Destroyed: ability resolves prior to it leaving play. This puts your facedown card into your archives which is an out of play zone hidden from your opponent. They do not see what the faceup side of the card is.
SPEAKING OF JUDGES: Two very special individuals in the KeyForge community were honored at the Scrub's Revenge Party this weekend. US Premiere Event judges Marcus D’Amelio and Gee Barger each received KeyForge Lifetime Achievement Award plaques for their dedicated support and significant contribution to the KeyForge community. Congratulations!
