Tournament Rules
Ghost Galaxy released Version 2.0 of the Tournament Rules & Guidelines document, the governing document for KeyForge Organized Play official events. The accompanying article which released alongside the updated TRG outlined the primary changes of the update, which include:
Final matches (best-of-three) being timed at 45min per game (previously was untimed)
As previously announced, the Sealed Archon and Sealed Alliance official formats have been merged into one format called Sealed. The new format is most closely modeled after Sealed Alliance, with players having the choice of bringing 1-3 decks of the designated set to either construct an Alliance deck from or use unmodified (previously was 2 or 3 decks, determined by event organizer). Unmodified sealed only akin to Sealed Archon is no longer represented in an official format.
An updated Alliance list (see above)
Another minor addition to the TRG that allows for event organizers to contact Ghost Galaxy in advance to request exceptions to the official format rules “based on local circumstances”.
Gone With the Winds
Ghost Galaxy has sold out of all English language KeyForge: Winds of Exchange decks, according to an update posted by the Minnesotan company last week.
No mo’ WoE? — Although English Winds of Exchange decks are no longer being printed, product may still continue to be available at distributors and retailers while supplies last.
One for the money, two for the show — The article also shed some light on how the company plans to approach print runs for sets going forward with a three-run approach. “One for the related crowdfunding campaign, a second for the global commercial release, and a third optional reprint after gauging initial commercial sales during the first 60 days. After this, a set will no longer be produced.”
Closing thoughts from Lake WoE-be-gone — “This is an incredible achievement for the first set marking the game’s return” writes Ghost Galaxy in the update, “We are incredibly pleased by the response to KeyForge: Winds of Exchange and an indicator of a bright future ahead for the game.”
Ask a Judge
I am not haunted. I play Don’t Believe Your Eyes. Can I choose my opponent to capture an Æmber from its own side?
When you resolve Don’t Believe Your Eyes’ Play: ability, one of two effects will resolve. If you are haunted, a creature (friendly or enemy) captures 2 Æmber from its own side. However, if you are not haunted, a creature (friendly or enemy) captures 1 Æmber as normal, i.e. from the creature’s controller’s opponent.
