Master Vault Numbers

As of May 10, 2026, a total of 3,556,877 decks were registered in the Master Vault. This reflects an increase of 6,477 decks in the last week. Note that the graph below only shows registrations of Ghost Galaxy produced decks. Complete data can be found on the Master Vault page at Archon Arcana.

On Friday, Ghost Galaxy made a notable announcement regarding the side events at Vault Tours in the 2026 season, and introduced a companion document titled the Alternative Formats Guide (or AFG for short), which serves as a reference document for the various side event tournament formats.

In the AFG, the document outlines that Tournament Formats are created as a result of a combination between a Tournament Type and Tournament Method.

Tournament Types (of which Sealed, Archon, Alliance are examples) "define the rules by which a player obtains their deck(s), constructs/selects a deck, and how their decklists are handled." A new tournament type has also been introduced, called Draft. Sealed and Draft also have variants which adjust specifically how these are conducted.

Tournament Methods "define the rules by which games are setup, played, and/or won." The normal method of play that involves no modifications to the usual game rules is called Standard. Additional methods entered into the document are Adaptive, Oubliette, and QuickForge.

The document also goes on to detail the complete ruleset for drafting in KeyForge, the new Tournament Type introduced in the document.

The same announcement shared that the side event tournament formats that will be featured at the first Vault Tour in Portland will be Archon QuickForge on Friday, Sealed Adaptive on Saturday, and Pack Draft Standard on Sunday.

Entry into each side event will require an entry fee in the form of purchasing a KeyForge: Draconian Measures deck. These are used to form a prize pool for side event participants. For certain qualifying side events, Ghost Galaxy will also contribute a playmat for the winner and up to two displays of Draconian Measures decks for increased prize distribution.

Keyforge | Swindle A League Finals - Zizzutti vs Panic by Phlox’em All

Master Vault Numbers

As of May 3, 2026, a total of 3,550,400 decks were registered in the Master Vault. This reflects an increase of 4,245 decks in the last week.

Last week, Ghost Galaxy announced a major change to the tournament structure for KeyForge premiere tournaments, including World Championships, Open Tournaments, the Last Chance Qualifier, and World Championship Qualifying Events (such as Vault Tours and National Championships).

Qualifying rounds will no longer use the Playstile 2LO structure as it had been doing so since August 2023, and will instead use a Swiss-style structure going forward, with a predetermined number of qualifying rounds based on the number of tournament entrants.

The update also corresponds with a v2.6 update to the KeyForge Tournament Rules and Guidelines document, which goes into more detail on the changes. After the predetermined number of qualifying rounds conclude, the top cut will be set based on player’s records, with strength of schedule (SoS), followed by extended strength of schedule (ESoS) as tiebreakers.

Additionally, Ghost Galaxy intends to forgo conducting the Second Æmber consolation tournaments as they have in the past, and instead conduct one side event each day, expected to have additional prize support. Their announcement states that “players will be offered interesting ways to engage with KeyForge that are not available in main tournaments, including alternative formats and game modes”, with each Vault Tour’s side event details being announced prior to each Vault Tour.

These changes will start with the first Vault Tour of the 2026 season in Portland, OR. Premier tournaments will continue to be conducted using the Playstile tournament software.

Vault Tour Italy Announced

The Vault will be organized by AZ Card & Games and will take place on September 25–27, 2026 at the AZ Card & Games HQ in Florence, Italy.

Starting in June, players are expected to be able to view information on confirmed National Championship events via the official 2026 National Championships page.

Archon Arcana was founded to resolve a major frustration for KeyForge players: official rules questions were often answered privately via email, leaving the wider community in the dark. By creating an open, contributor-driven wiki, the project transformed these responses into a permanent, publicly searchable resource.

Last week, the project underwent a facelift. According to a statement in the Archon Arcana discord, the update’s goal was to address some long standing infrastructure issues and work to ensure long-term stability. In the process, the main page received a new user interface, the beloved Card Gallery got a minor redesign, and after a hiatus spanning back to Dark Tidings, Deck Search has returned.

Playgroup & Event Finder Coming to KeyChain

The KeyChain team is celebrating its one year anniversary since the launch of the platform’s beta on March 31, 2025. In addition to a look at how KeyChain began, the team announced a major feature addition to the site, including support for upcoming event listings, and a playgroup/event finder, coming soon as a beta preview.

Event organizers can now schedule events in advance on KeyChain, and share the link to that event with their communities. Players can then register for events in advance, and event organizers can even start a tournament on Sloppy Tournaments from within the event page. When completed, tournament results can then be exported back into KeyChain.

Eventually, the KeyChain team plans to make these scheduled upcoming events visible through various playgroup and event finding pathways on the site, which will be coming soon in a beta state.

Portland Early Blorb Bonus Revealed

Ghost Galaxy revealed the artwork that will be part of the 2026 Portland Vault Tour, as part of the Early Blorb Bonus for attendees who purchase their tickets at least 30 days prior to the start of the event.

Portland will feature Moor Wolf’s illustration, created by Liiga Smilshkalne. The 5x7 prints will feature a serialization and location on one side, with the other side featuring clean artwork without overlays.

In addition, five 8x10 prints will be awarded as well, with three going to each tournament’s champion, and two going to players who are nominated for special recognition of service to the community or the event as part of the Amazing Archon Community Award. The three champion prints will also be framed for Vault Tours held in the United States.

A: When resolving Helmsman Spears’ After Reap: ability, you would need to set the magnitude of the “any number” then proceed to resolve the instructions from there. For example, if you reaped with Helmsman Spears and chose a magnitude of 6, then discard Staff Sergeant Rhea and resolve its Scrap: ability to ready and reap with Helmsman Spears a second time, you would then set the magnitude for the second instance of Helmsman Spears’ After Reap: ability. If you choose 6 again, then you would discard the remaining 6 cards in your hand, then draw 6 cards for the second instance of Helmsman Spears’ After Reap: ability. With the second instance completely resolved, you would return to resolving the first instance, discarding a further 5 cards, then draw 6 cards to complete the resolution of the first instance.

Master Vault Numbers

As of March 29, 2026, a total of 3,540,151 decks were registered in the Master Vault. This reflects an increase of 1,742 decks in the last week.

Event organizer AndyP has announced the creation of a new community-organized KeyForge event: Uncharted Lands.

The event will be a multi-day event featuring the Adaptive format, and will be held on August 15–16, 2026 in Lebanon, NH as part of Hijinx Con.

Details are still being worked out, but those interested in learning more about the event are encouraged to join the Uncharted Lands Discord server.

Community Card Applications Expanding

We’re preparing for our 2026 Community Card set, and for the last month or so of applications, we will be opening up eligibility for a new entity type to be represented as a community card, and these truly are at the heart of the community: Local Game Stores!

Effective immediately: Local Game Stores will be eligible to have a community card created to represent their store, on a few conditions:

• The applicant has received explicit permission from an appropriate game store representative that their store can be included in this project (we will be confirming this on our end as well)

• The game store hosts KeyForge organized play events.

The store does not have to apply themselves (although they are welcome to do so). The applicant be any community member who has received permission from the store to be a part of this — and the application form will ask for the contact information of that store representative.

Applicants who wish to see their local store included should do the following:

• Seek permission from a store owner or representative (cards will include the store’s name and logo)

• Fill out the application form

Depending on how many LGS applications we get, we may not be able to include all applicants in this year’s batch — but any unused applicants may be eligible for a future year. The application deadline is April 5th!

Gamefound Production Update #6

Ghost Galaxy released a small production update for the Draconian Measures Gamefound campaign. In addition to a new spoiler card, the update notes that Ghost Galaxy expects completion of items from their sister company Artiforge to be completed sometime this coming week.

A: You’ll draw 6 cards total. After you play Archon’s Callback, there are two effects that need to be resolved: draw 5 cards (resolving the Play: ability of Archon’s Callback) and draw a card (resolving the “after play” effect of Library Card). Once both of these pending effects are resolved, Step 3 will end due to the Omega keyword on Archon’s Callback.

Master Vault Numbers

As of March 15, 2026, a total of 3,536,929 decks were registered in the Master Vault. This reflects an increase of 1,554 decks in the last week.

Organizer of KeyForge Vietnam and 2026 Vault Tour Vietnam, EmperorRiku, has announced details on an enhanced experience for Vault Tour Vietnam called “Together”, including additional themed side activities for the Vault Tour weekend from August 14–16, as well as an extended post-Vault Tour trip.

The Vault Tour side events will feature a theme of “teams” with players teaming up with their first round opponent in the first tournament for a number of side events. There will also be a quest board and 2v2 tournament.

The post-Vault Tour trip will take place immediately after from August 17–20, which involves flying from Ho Chi Minh to Da Nang city on Monday morning. While in Da Nang. The activities during this trip will focus on team missions exploring the local area. “Each group will be given a list of missions to do during daytime. Missions is actually all about experience culture, food and people.” reads an update from Riku. “Nighttime will be gathering, eating and social games like we can share about our experience during the day, playing KeyForge.”

“Our 2nd Vault last year was better than the first, but I feel like it's not enough. So I want to do more than that. Especially consider that the majority of international players would want to do more than just 3 days of KeyForge after flying so far.” said Riku speaking with Bad Penny Press. “We have the best food (literally), we have great people (and players, which we have 4 world champions participating this year, guess who they are), and we have arguable the best KeyForge event of modern day (only after KFC).”

The advertised cost for the post-Vault trip is $250 USD. Those interested in learning more can read and fill out this form. More information is also available on Riku’s Discord server. The deadline for signups for the post-Vault trip is April 30th.

Store Championship Season Underway!

The 2026 Store Championship season has officially commenced as of yesterday March 1st. Ghost Galaxy shared a reminder on the official KeyForge site, as well as sharing an image of the three possible full-art cards players can get for participation.

Players can visit the official Store Championships page to see a map of all retailers who have scheduled and registered their store championship tournaments. Tournaments are expected to end by April 17th.

Last week, Ghost Galaxy released the updated rules documents for the start of the 2026 season, including Master Rulebook version 18.3 and Tournament Rules & Guidelines version 2.5.

Alliance Super League Announced

League organizer skred has announced the formation of a new online league: the Alliance Super League. The league “aims to be the premier online league for the Alliance format” says skred speaking to Bad Penny Press about the league’s formation. “It's been several years where Alliance has been on the Vault Tour, and outside of that and Store Championships, there isn't really an outlet for regular, competitive alliance play, and this league hopes to change that.”

Skred also mentions that main league play isn’t the only aspect, and that he is also hoping to conduct some side events as well. “The goal for these events is to encourage players to try more wacky or unconventional builds. Which in my personal experience is a great way to get people into the format for the first time. I've gotten people into Alliance first by talking about the type of decks they like playing in Archon or a Sealed deck they enjoyed pulling and going from there.”

Players interested in learning more or signing up should join the league’s Discord server. Registration is being conducted through this sign-up form. Sign-ups close on March 7, 2026.

The total of four Vault Tours in the United States is one less than previous years, with Ghost Galaxy citing efforts to concentrate events to improve event quality. “By concentrating our stops, we’re bringing more players together under one roof, building bigger crowds, stronger competition, and an amplified KeyForge experience at every location.” reads the post. “When the community shows up in large numbers, the energy hits different — and that’s what we’re looking for.”

Tickets & Early Blorb Bonus

Tickets for US Vault Tours remain at $100 USD, which has remained consistent since 2024. I Similarly, Event Keys are not needed to participate in tournaments, an entry requirement that Ghost Galaxy removed in May of last year. Tickets include a goody bag which include 3 KeyForge decks, a regional pin, and 1 KeyForge: Vault Masters 2026 deck, the latter of which was — despite being anticipated — officially confirmed via this announcement.

New this year is the introduction of the Early Blorb Bonus. Attendees who purchase their tickets at least 30 days before a Vault Tour event will get an exclusive collectible in the form of a serialized limited edition, 5x7 ″ full-art print. Each Vault Tour stop will have its own unique artwork.

A: No. Similar to Collector Worm, the creature Bit Byte fights must survive the fight and remain in play for the After Fight: ability to interact with it. In this case, Professor Sutterkin will have already left play and be in the purged zone where it cannot be affected.

Vault Tour 2026 Date Announcement by Flightless Pheasant

Master Vault Numbers

As of February 15, 2026, a total of 3,530,879 decks were registered in the Master Vault. This reflects an increase of 1,476 decks in the last week.

One of the first community-run tournaments of 2026, NEKO II: Glorious Tradition came to a close this weekend. 47 players participated in the main tournament hosted at Six Feet Under Games in Gap, PA, with approximately 50 individuals attending the event overall.

The main tournament was Sealed Archon (Open 3, Pick 1) using the Crucible Clash set, with a modification that Archon Powers would not be used.

Congratulations to Barry_Skywalker374 who emerged victorious as the tournament champion, taking down defending champion quickdraw3457 who returned to the top table as this year’s runner-up (and also, earned victories with each of his three sealed decks). The other finalists were:

• Top 4: Orbital Tangent and Sutterkin

• Top 8: DRSheep, cpt stupendous, king-of-bling, and Unfathomable

Numerous other prizes were won through NEKO’s signature side event, Sweet 16, as players completed several additional matches over the course of the weekend earning prize and raffle tickets. Of note: Jennenn, foolishbigj, Fig, and Marty finished their entire Sweet 16 bingo cards to maximize their ticket rewards!

The organizers note that content from NEKO II should be available in the near future.

A: Soul Lock’s constant ability prevents your opponent from resolving Remote Access’ Play: ability on it. While Remote Access allows your opponent to use Soul Lock “as if it were yours”, at no point does control of Soul Lock change, meaning that your opponent cannot use Dis cards.

Those interested in purchasing a ticket, which features a Sealed Archon Crucible Clash (without archon powers) main tournament, can still do so via the event website.

NEKO II: Sweet 16 Details Announced

NEKO II: Glorious Tradition is less than two weeks away, and the complete details of this year’s Sweet 16 side event have been announced. Similar to last year, players will get bingo cards with an arrangement of formats on it. Completing games of those formats earns you tickets, with bonus tickets for winning games and completing bingo lines. Prize tickets can be used on an assortment of items at the Sweet 16 prize wall.

Formats being featured are:

• Archon (x3)

• Sealed (x2) - Bulk decks will be available for sealed games!

• Triad Bo1 (x2)

• Shredder/Sealed Keymander/Community Card (x2) - Two slots that each ask you to play any one of these formats

• Adaptive (bo1)

2026 Store Championships Detailed

As hinted at last week, Ghost Galaxy released a number of pages pertaining to the 2026 Store Championships:

Q: I control an Infiltrator on my right flank and a Whirlpool. At the end of my turn, can I give Infiltrator to my opponent to destroy one of their creatures?

A: No. Both Infiltrator and Whirlpool’s abilities resolve in the same timing window. If you choose to resolve Whirlpool’s ability first, Infiltrator is now under the control of your opponent. Since abilities on cards in play are written from the perspective of their controller, Infiltrator’s ability will now only resolve at the end of your opponent’s turn — not at the end of yours — so its ability is no longer eligible to resolve.

Keyforge Tutorials- How To Read A New Deck by The Archivist

Master Vault Numbers

As of January 18, 2025, a total of 3,524,037 were registered in the Master Vault. This reflects an increase of 1,549 decks in the last week.

Last week, Ghost Galaxy announced their vision for KeyForge organized play in 2026. The anticipated plan for the season largely remains similarly structured to 2025.

Details on the 2026 Vault Tour season are expected to be released in February, and local game stores can look forward to 5 kit-based events in 2026, including an updated New Player Discovery kit, 2026 Store Championships, the Summer Special Event, and Pre-Releases for Draconain Measures and Shattered Reality. Stores should be able to pre-order their Store Championship kits as early as next week, with more details coming then.

We’ve updated our Upcoming Official Events section below to include the timelines from the article.

TCO Updates

The Crucible Online contributing developer (and Bad Penny Press Crucible Hero recipient!) dmikalova reached out to the Press to share some updates the TCO team has been working on, which are now live on the digital game client:

• You can now select your deck’s accolades - from the deck list you can refresh existing decks to pull in accolades from Master Vault

• Mulligans are now tracked in game logs

• Destroyed effects are now more orderable - for example having 4 Æmber, Flint’s Stash, and Keyfrog now lets you choose which to resolve first instead of ignoring Keyfrog

• Some situations that effectively do nothing can now be chosen by the active player - for example, Shock Herder next to Awakened Titan will now let you choose Awakened Titan just in case you don’t want to fight. Previously, the game would incorrectly skip over this choice and force you to fight with Shock Herder’s other neighbor. This applies to any “ready and do something” abilities such as Grey Rider and Reap or Sow

• The list of sealed sets has been updated, and going forward will include all decks in the TCO pool

• [Coming soon] Menagerie/Keyraken cards have been implemented, the lobby menu just needs to be updated to better handle non-tournament legal sets

• Several minor fixes to a variety of different cards.

They also note the easiest way to contribute to TCO is to report any issues you encounter on the Keyteki GitHub repo. If you know some JavaScript and want to help out, contact the team in the #development channel on the TCO Discord server.

KeyForge Celebration Recap Articles

Before the end of last year, Ghost Galaxy released two recap articles for KeyForge Celebration 2025. The first, a high level overview of the event as a whole, and the other, a breakdown of the six main tournaments that were conducted over the weekend.

Ghost Galaxy also released their video of the KeyNote address by Ghost Galaxy CEO Christian T. Peterson which was also held at KeyForge Celebration.

Q: My opponent has 3 creatures in their battleline, with Bosch the Unyielding in the center, protecting the other two creatures with Taunt. If I play One Stood Against Many, how does its Play: ability resolve?

A: Assuming Bosch the Unyielding is not destroyed in the fight, only one fight will happen. The rules for Taunt state, "If a creature has the taunt keyword, any of its neighbors that do not have the taunt keyword cannot be chosen to be fought by an enemy creature that is being used to fight." When resolving One Stood Against Many's ability, a friendly creature will ready, then fight Bosch the Unyielding. Then the creature will ready again, however, it cannot choose a different enemy creature to fight, so the resolution of One Stood Against Many's ability has completed.

nedmike is our first 2025 Crucible Hero. Q: I have Bottomless Depths in play. If I discard Immersioneer, how do the Scrap: ability of Immersioneer and the constant ability of Bottomless Depths interact?

A: Scrap: abilities and the constant ability of Bottomless Depths both resolve in the same timing window (the “after you discard a card” window) so the active player can choose the order of their resolution. If the active player chooses to resolve the ability of Bottomless Depths first, Immersioneer’s Scrap: ability will no longer resolve, as it is no longer in the discard pile.

KeyForge 2025: Sets, Power Cards, and More!! by Aembermedes

As of December 14, 2025, a total of 3.516,453 were registered in the Master Vault. This reflects an increase of 1,504 decks in the last week.

The organizers of the Northeast KeyForge Open (NEKO) have revealed the full details on its second regional event: NEKO II: Glorious Tradition.

The event, taking place on January 31 & February 1, 2026 at Six Feet Under Games in Gap, PA, will feature a Sealed (Open 3, Pick 1) tournament using Crucible Clash, but without Archon Powers being active. In addition to the main tournament, NEKO’s signature side event, Sweet 16, will be available for attendees to play and earn prizes in.

Interested participants can purchase one of three ticket options from the event website. Players can also save $10 off each Standard or Deluxe ticket purchased before January 4th via an “Early Cat” discount by using the code EARLYCAT at checkout. Additional event details are included in the event reference document provided by the organizers.

KeyChain Charm Drop 4 Release

Last week, KeyChain announced the launch of Charm Drop 4: Seasonend to Perfection, introducing several new awards related to season leaderboards and a few additional playercard customization options. The new items are live on the site as of today.

December 1st also marked the start of the 2025-2026 season on KeyChain, which starts a new season of competition on global and playgroup leaderboards.

Prophetic Visions Clones Available

Ghost Galaxy has announced that deck clones from the Prophetic Visions set are now able to be purchased. Players can learn more about deck clones via the official page.

Q: I have Embellish Imp in play. If i play Gift of Æmber, can I destroy 2 of my opponent’s creatures and have them gain 2 Æmber then resolve Embellish Imp’s ability to steal 2 Æmber?

A: No. “If resolving part of the instructions of a card ability causes other card effects to begin to resolve, resolve those other card effects before continuing to resolve the instructions of the first card.” In this case, the destruction that results from following the first instruction of A Gift of Æmber opens the window for Embellish Imp’s ability to resolve. Once that ability has completed resolving, you return to complete the resolution of A Gift of Æmber’s ability. This means that the stealing from Embellish Imp completes before the Æmber gain that results from A Gift of Æmber.

Q: I have Atrocity in play. At the start of my opponent’s turn, Atrocity resolves and my opponent discards a card enhanced with a house bonus icon. What happens?

A: Atrocity’s ability instructs your opponent to choose the discarded card’s house, but because of the house bonus icon they have 2 different options for their active house. The rules for House Choice say: “If the active player is instructed they “must choose” two (or more) houses, the active player may choose any one of those houses.” Therefore, your opponent may choose either of the two houses the discarded card belongs to when choosing an active house.

Master Vault Numbers

As of November 16, 2025, a total of 3,510,060 were registered in the Master Vault. This reflects an increase of 2,064 decks in the last week.

The KeyForge Celebration 2025 kicks off this week in Roseville, Minnesota and will host the Sealed, Archon, and Alliance World Championships along with the respective Open tournaments to get the first invites to next year’s World Championships. Many more side tournaments and community events will occur, all listed on the KeyForge Celebration event page. All of Bad Penny Press will be in attendance, so please come say hi!

Community Card Server Launch & BPP Promo Raffle Results

In preparation of the Community Card launch and companion event at KFC, we’ve created a Discord server for Community Cards. Currently, the server is in a “prep” stage with channels locked, however on November 6th, it will:

1. Facilitate matchmaking for players who wish to play in the companion event at KFC25

2. Serve as a hub for discussing the cards, mode, and to facilitate trades for the completionists out there!

If you’re looking forward to learning more about the Community Cards and the event at KFC, be sure to join the Discord server to stay up-to-date on the latest!

KeyChain: Charm Drop 3 Release

The KeyChain team has announced the release of Charm Drop 3: Instance Satisfaction will be releasing tomorrow on Tuesday, November 4. The digital content drop includes:

• Trophies for online play and National Champions

• New Badges

• Several new playercard avatars and backgrounds

Draconian Measures Updates

Ghost Galaxy has given several updates to the KeyForge: Draconian Measures Gamefound campaign. The first update is a Production Update which details their progress in production and includes a picture and a couple new spoiler cards. The second update shows off the stunning new Full Foil cards.

Backers still have until Tuesday, November 11 at 10:00am CT to complete their pledge by verifying shipping. More detailed information on how to process orders in the pledge manager is available in Update #16.

A: Yes. When you divide your battleline, your creature will be in one half or the other. You may choose to destroy the half of your battleline that has no creatures in it.

A funny story… two weeks ago in Issue #139 we said that folks who commented on the following issue (140) would be entered into a raffle for a chance to win one of five Bad Penny Press community card foil promos.

What we meant to do was call that out again in Issue #140 itself. Which… we did not actually do… oops!

Draconian Measures Pledge Manager Opens

The pledge manager for the KeyForge: Draconian Measures Gamefound campaign has now officially opened. During the pledge manager period, individuals can place late pledge orders as well as add additional add-ons, including some new ones that Ghost Galaxy has added

Backers will have until Tuesday, November 11 at 10:00am CT to complete their pledge by verifying shipping. More detailed information on how to process orders in the pledge manager is available in Update #16.

Q: I use my Oblivion Knight to fight and destroy an enemy creature with 2 power. Does the creature Oblivion Knight fought get purged?

A: No. Oblivion Knight’s After Fight: ability resolves after the fight occurs, at which point the creature destroyed in the fight would be in its owner’s discard pile. Similar to the Collector Worm FAQ, Oblivion Knight’s ability does not interact with cards in out-of-play zones or after they are destroyed. So, the destroyed creature will remain in its owner’s discard pile.
